Bowl Scenario
Get your passports ready. Rutgers is an almost certain lock to be invited to play in the International Bowl, which is a Toronto-based bowl game on January 5th. It is the only bowl game played outside of the U.S. The Scarlet Knights will be taking on the third place team in the MAC, which will either be Bowling Green or Ball State. First, Rutgers must take care of business in their final regular season matchup against the Louisville Cardinals. Rutgers is searching for their 8th win of the season.
In other news, Rutgers Junior RB Ray Rice is one of the three finalists for the Doak Walker Award along with Mike Hart of Michigan and Darren McFadden of Arkansas. Rice leads all active players nationally with a career average of 125.7 yards per game.
Also, Rutgers Freshman Guard Anthony Davis has been named to the First Team Freshman All-American Team by Rivals.com and Second Team by Scout.com. Davis has yet to allow a sack this season. He is the first Freshman All-America selection for the Scarlet Knights since Ray Rice and Courtney Greene in 2005. Davis displays great potential and will be a key to the future of the Rutgers running game and pass protection.
